What brand CAT6 cable do you prefer and have you had bad experiences with any? Networking.I know the logic board is a cost prohibitive repair. Curious if anyone has seen the same issue and resolved it by replacing either this cable or the small board there. There is a separate little board that the power stuff is on (indicated by red circle in image) and a cable (indicated by arrow in image) that connects it to the main logic board.

Interesting to note, when battery is disconnected and magsafe is plugged in, light on adapter goes orange to indicate charging rather than staying green indicating no battery or full battery. Disconnected the battery, held down the power button to discharge it, reconnected battery, no boot. Opened it up, doesn't appear to be any liquid, some pet (I hope) hair. Still does not boot, but indicates keyboard input is working.

Reset SMC, magsafe changes from orange to green for a second, then back to orange. Magsafe is green when first plugged in, then goes orange, stays orange despite being plugged in over 24 hours. This is one a user brought in from home, no Apple care.
